Getting Started

Interested in trying out The Family Room?

Visit thefamilyroom.co to get started! You can access The Family Room on any device and the first step is to set up your free account.

You can set up as many rooms as you want with your one account. Each room gets its own name and you decide who you want to invite. Maybe one room is for your child to spend time with their grandparents and another is for them to meet with a small afterschool class. Maybe you even have a third room for when you need to travel and want to use The Family Room so you or a tutor can help with your child’s homework.

We would never sacrifice your child’s safety and security just so they can spend time with friends and family. You are the only one who can set up accounts for your children, invite people to join your rooms and accept (or decline) room invitations for your children. That way your children can feel free to explore all the age-appropriate activities in The Family Room with people who you know and trust.

Enjoy learning and playing together in The Family Room!

  1. Create an account for yourself (you have to be 16 or older).
  2. Set up a room – or as many rooms as you like.
  3. Invite people to join your rooms – if they don’t already have a TFR account and they are a child you’ll have to set one up for them or ask an adult that knows them if they have an account. If you want to invite other adults to join a room, they can set up their own account.
  4. Start having fun and spending time together!
  5. As you find activities that you enjoy, you can favorite them (that’s the heart symbol!) so they are easy to find the next time.
  6. At any point you can link a child’s Google Classroom account to a room to easily access their homework or upload assignments.
